Client Success & Growth Manager
Location: Remote, US
Reports to: President
About Mission Energy
Mission Energy is a trusted advisor helping our clients advance their missions through the design, development, financing, and construction management of turnkey clean energy, storage, and efficiency projects. We work to empower any organization, primarily nonprofits, to implement and benefit from clean energy projects. Our rooftop, ground mount, carport, and BESS projects across the US range in size from 250kW – 5MW, typically 500-1,500kW. We develop, finance, and own most of the projects we build.
About the Role
At Mission Energy, our greatest sales asset is our track record. The Client Success & Growth Manager is the primary driver of new business for the firm. This is a high-impact, hybrid role: 70% Strategic Business Development & Sales and 30% Technical Account Management.
You are the primary post-construction face of Mission Energy, interfacing with executive-level clients. Your mission is to convert high-performing clean energy assets into a self-sustaining referral engine. You will be expected to operate with technical autonomy, resolving most moderate complexity client inquiries independently to ensure the Origination and Construction teams remain focused on new project development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Referral-Based Sales & Pipeline Generation
· Direct Sales Growth: Transform client satisfaction into a steady stream of new sales opportunities by securing warm referrals and introductions.
· Network Mining: Conduct "Success Interviews" to capture testimonials and systematically identify new project opportunities within a client’s broader network.
· Lead Qualification: Qualify new prospects generated through your network and execute a seamless hand-off to the Origination team with a clear project roadmap.
2. Strategic Network Expansion
· Institutional Relationship Building: Leverage individual project successes to secure high-level meetings with ‘Umbrella’ decision-makers (e.g., Diocesan Finance Councils, CFOs of regional nonprofit coalitions, etc.).
· Advocacy Leadership: Develop and manage a "Client Ambassador" program, empowering our most passionate nonprofit partners to speak on behalf of Mission Energy at regional conferences or internal association meetings.
3. Technical Account Management
· Client Success: Serve as the ongoing point of contact for all existing clients, conducting regular check-ins to ensure total satisfaction.
· Technical Independence: Act as the first and primary line of support for client questions. You are expected to independently resolve at least 50% of technical and financial inquiries regarding general solar and storage questions, system performance, and billing. You must understand, interpret, and explain production versus modeled data to clients.
· Trusted Advisor Status: Help organization leaders navigate the long-term benefits of their solar, storage, and efficiency projects. Translate complex ‘solar speak’ into clear, concise impact presentations for executives and stakeholders.
Qualifications
· Sales Pedigree: 3+ years in the solar industry (C&I preferred) with a proven track record in business development, technical sales, or high-level account growth.
· Technical & Analytical Proficiency: Must be able to read solar monitoring data, interpret utility bills, and discuss the mechanics of solar-plus-storage systems. Proficiency in energy production vs. consumption modeling is required.
· Executive Presence: Exceptional soft skills with the ability to move seamlessly between a technical conversation with a facility manager and a financial presentation to a Board of Directors.
· Mission-Driven: A genuine passion for the nonprofit sector and a deep understanding of their unique financial, legal, and decision-making structures.
Why Mission Energy?
You will be helping organizations like schools, houses of worship, and community centers save money so they can focus on their core mission. This isn't just about kilowatts; it’s about community impact.
