Leveraging Renewable Energy for Your Organization

Nonprofit organizations commonly struggle with finding the time and expertise necessary to develop, implement and pay for energy projects.

Mission Energy Can Help.

Mission Energy provides turnkey solar, storage, and energy efficiency project development, funding, and implementation services for nonprofit organizations. Whether your interest is in reducing your energy costs or monetizing land or other real estate assets, Mission Energy does the hard work so you don’t have to.

Nonprofit organizations across the country are reducing their energy costs so they can put more resources into carrying out their important missions. Through a combination of renewable energy and energy efficiency, nonprofit organizations can save money and have their real estate portfolio more closely align with their commitment to do good in the world. Furthermore, many organizations have substantial under-utilized real estate that can be leased for solar development.

Our Services

Our Mission is to Help Power Yours

Innovate.

We create energy solutions that combine renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies to lower operating costs for your facilities. Our modeling incorporates numerous variables based on factors which are unique to your property. We’re committed to investigating every possible option that will benefit your organization’s energy plan.

Collaborate.

Our initial consultation helps us gather information about your organization and its unique needs so that we best understand your facilities and property, your energy use, your short and long-term operations goals, and your motivations in pursuing the projects. The alternative energy landscape is ever-changing, with new incentives, restrictions, and policy initiatives that are constantly in flux. We’re experts at navigating this landscape, and our network of solar, efficiency and LED partners can customize solutions that are right for your properties.

Empower.

Mission Energy’s priority is to serve your organization’s best interests as a trusted advisor. We do not sell equipment or software, nor do we have exclusive partnerships with vendors. Guided by your organization’s decision-making processes and timelines, we present a range of solutions and assist you in educating your constituencies in assessing these choices. We will recommend installers and vendors for your project after exploring local options, careful vetting and discussion with you. We provide a road map for your organization’s energy plan and you’re in the driver’s seat. Once you approve the approach, we manage the design, funding and implementation of your energy plan, allowing you to focus on carrying out your organization’s important work.

What’s Your Why

Create savings of your energy expenses so you can re-direct those funds to serve your mission. Demonstrate your commitment to environmental stewardship. Lead your organization to take action. Inspire and engage your community. Whatever your motivation, Mission Energy is here to help.

Real Estate Analysis

Put your property to work for you.

As part of our consultation and evaluation services we seek energy solutions that make use of the real estate (i.e., vacant land, rooftops or other property) that our clients already own. Leveraging land and property creates a win-win for all, in which an organization’s existing resources can have a major fiscal impact as both a source of electrical power and as a revenue stream.

Many organizations are not aware that their unused or under-used land could be developed with solar. Unlike generating power for your own facilities, unused land can be turned into lucrative and long-term lease income if the land is suitable for solar development. Mission Energy will work with your organization to determine the optimal project design, whether that means siting solar on your property to offset your electricity costs, or leasing unused land for a large-scale solar project.

Funding and Financing

You have the will, Mission Energy has the way.

We understand that while the will may exist for your organization to pursue an energy project, the financial resources may not. That is why we can arrange the financing for projects we develop, so although these energy solutions can be expensive to initiate, execute and complete, our financing strategies often allow the projects to move ahead with no upfront capital.

Additionally, our team can help nonprofit organizations navigate the complex world of incentives, lease payments, and annuity-like structures, all of which can generate short and long-term revenue that can transform an organization’s fiscal outlook.

Implementation

Energy solutions are not one-size-fits-all.

If your organization is spread across a wide area, it may seem challenging to develop a program that can address all of your properties. We are experts in creating programs that are national or regional in scope, and helping execute projects across a state, a region or the entire country.

An organization’s Energy Program with Mission Energy may include services such as: large-scale assessment of land and buildings for solar potential, determining and managing achievable organization-wide carbon offset goals, an organization-vetted and approved Power Purchase Agreement, management of standardized contractor and installation requirements, and tailored outreach to gain buy-in from stakeholders and donors. The common thread through our programs is to empower organizations to make well-informed decisions and not be slowed by a lack of internal bandwidth. We have the resources to create scalable, impactful programs customized for your organization’s unique needs.

We’ve loved working with Mission Energy to assess the congregations we work with for their solar potential. Dan and Page are skilled at winning the confidence of nonprofit leaders, they take a holistic view that incorporates energy upgrades into their proposals, and they bid out every project to both financing partners and installers, ensuring that our communities get a good deal.
